We have all seen images of Flappers in the 1920s dancing the Charleston with their long strands of pearls or beads. The necklace on the left is an example of a popular necklace from that era. It is a single strand composed of Czechoslovakian glass beads in an array of colors known as Harlequin glass. The beads are hand-cut cubes with rounded edges. This necklace has been restrung using the original beads including small translucent
glass spacer beads with it's original spring clasp.

Adventure Collecting found this treasure on the trip home from the grocery store. The nice lady who sold us this piece has yard-sales a couple times a year. She has great taste in vintage jewelry, and we never leave her sales empty-handed. The Harlequin Flapper is at auction on our family Ebay page with a starting price of $38.00 plus shipping. The Ebay listing has additional pictures of this item with an additional description. Do not overlook the yard-sale signs posted on telephone polls. You never know what you might find!
